• Michelin tyres get accredited with a five-star rating in fuel efficiency

Michelin’s Latitude Sport 3 and Pilot Sport 4 SUV tyres were certified by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency

Michelin, one of the leading multinational tyre manufacturing companies, has been accredited with a five-star rating for fuel efficiency in the passenger vehicle segment. A five-star attribute is given to tyres that on average consume up to 9.5 percent less fuel when compared to any other tyre. These tyres are tested on various aspects, such as testing of rolling resistance coefficient and wet grip index.

This is the first brand sold in India to get five-star accreditation by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). Michelin’s Latitude Sport 3 and Pilot Sport 4 tyres are the ones to receive this achievement. In fact, the French tyre maker was also the first brand to be accredited with a four-star rating for commercial vehicle tyres as well.

Talking about the tyres, Latitude Sport 3 is the third generation of on-road SUV tyres from the marque’s line-up. The tyres are designed to offer the best in segment driving experience, performance and fuel consumption. The Pilot Sport 4 SUV on the other hand, is a high-performance, premium SUV tyre focused on longevity, braking performance and handling.

Mr Manish Pandey, Commercial Director B2C India region said, “At Michelin, we believe that for mobility to have a future, it will have to be increasingly eco-friendly, efficient, safe and accessible. After receiving the first four-star label for our commercial vehicle tyre recently, we are thrilled to be recognised once again with India’s first five-star rating for two of our most popular passenger car tyre lines in India. For our brand, this first five-star rating will add greater confidence among our customers, where they will be better placed to select tyres that are fuel-efficient, safe and contribute to decreasing carbon footprint in the country. We are dedicated to offering our Indian customers the most advanced technology best tailored to keep them safe, comfortable, and efficient on Indian roads”.
