First seen on the Triumph Speed 400 launch units before they hit the market, MRF has now officially launched their new Steel Brace series of motorcycle radials for high performance bikes. According to MFR, the R&D team spent the last few years in the development of these tyres.
MRF says that the tyres offer dynamic profile stability, which retains the shape of the tyre under load. They also have high-speed optimisation, and provide a wider contact patch for grip during cornering. The tread pattern has been designed to provide improved grip under wet road conditions and have uniform tread wear characteristics.
MRF is the first homegrown tyre manufacturer of our nation, and while they were instrumental in the development of the high-performance motorcycling culture with their Zapper series of tyres, it had been disheartening to see them outpaced in the development department by their rivals. However, we believe that’s all set to change with the launch of their new tyre. We hope to see more such products from the oldest Indian tyre brand in future.
