Motorcycles Saved My Life

Actor by profession and biker by passion, Amit Sadh hits the road to live a dream

When I first set out on Motorcycles Saved My Life (MSML), I didn’t expect it to be more than a ride. Season 1, with my 5,288km solo expedition, was an incredible journey on my Triumph Tiger 1200, taking me from the bustling city of Mumbai to the stunning landscapes of Kinnaur, Spiti, Zanskar Valley and Leh.

It wasn’t about the extreme weather or battling the elements, it was a deeper journey — a test of endurance, yes, but also of my soul, pushing me to find something more within myself and the world. That season became a space where I connected with nature, people and most importantly, helped me connect with my fans in a new way — to see my authentic self and invite them along on this personal journey of discovery and growth.

As Season 2 unfolds I find myself even deeper into the wild landscapes of Ladakh, continuing the adventure on the same trusted motorcycle, my Tiger 1200. This season I ventured beyond the well-trodden paths, stepping off the tarmac and into remote, hidden corners of the region. If Season 1 was a journey of discovery, Season 2 is all about embracing the unknown. It’s about pushing past what’s familiar and finding treasures in places that are so raw and untouched, they seem almost timeless.

The landscapes are even more ‘otherworldly’. I ride through remote villages, explore vast plains and visit spots so isolated I feel like I’m venturing to the ends of the planet. In a way, these places haven’t changed for centuries. And it’s in these tucked-away corners of the world that I truly begin to see the life and culture that thrives away from the spotlight. And that’s exactly the kind of magic MSML is all about: the ability to step beyond just passing through and fully immersing in life, living out Carpe Diem.

I’ve been riding through some of the most scenic and unique locations in Ladakh, uncovering stories that are as much about the landscape as they are about the people who inhabit it. My first stop took me to the Tso Kar Lake where I ventured into the Thukje village. Living in this village was an experience unlike any other. It was raw and helped me connect to the land in a way that’s hard to describe.

I then traveled deeper into Kharnak Valley, a place that seems like it’s suspended in time. It’s here that I met Chopel Ji, the Goba, the leader of the nomads of Thukje. In his hidden temporary settlement, I learned about the nomadic way of life – the sacrifices, challenges and the deep bond they have with the land. These encounters made me feel small in the grand scheme of things yet deeply connected to the heart of these lands and people who call it home.

What really struck me was how little they ask for in return. The nomads don’t seek recognition or admiration, yet they are some of the most resilient and grounded people I’ve met. It wasn’t just about surviving in a harsh environment, it was about thriving in a way that’s respectful of the land and everything it provides. Riding through this terrain, meeting these people and learning from their way of life, this journey was more than just about crossing kilometers or ticking off bucket-list locations. It was about understanding a deeper connection — a bond between the rider, the bike and the road, yes, but also between me and the world around me.

I continued riding through some of the remotest plains, where the only signs of life were the wild animals roaming freely. From Blue Sheep to Kiyangs (wild horses) and herds of goats across vast stretches of land, this part offered me a glimpse into nature at its most untamed. One of the highlights was riding to Merak Village on the southern banks of the Pangong Lake. It was a peaceful, serene spot, far from the crowds, where I camped by the lake and braved the icy waters. You’ll get to witness the breathtaking landscape — the stillness of the lake, surrounded by towering mountains, and feel this remote village. Plus, you’ll see a moment that might sound too surreal: a rare double rainbow, adding an unexpected touch of magic to an already extraordinary location.

I also met a group of international riders exploring India in Merak and it was a reminder of how motorcycles have a unique way of connecting people. We shared stories, laughs and the universal bond that comes from being out on the road, whether you’re from the next village or the other side of the world. I then made my way to Thiksey where I met a senior Lama. Our conversation left me with a calm that lasted through the rest of the journey. From there the journey took me to Saspol and Alchi where I explored Buddhist meditation caves and ancient petroglyphs.

MSML isn’t just about the ride — it’s also about the joy, the freedom, and the experiences that make life worth living. And for me, the joy of riding is something I want to share with all of you. It’s why MSML exists — to get people to smile, to connect with their inner spirit and to experience the joy of riding the way I do. I want people to feel the rush of the wind, the thrill of the road and the beauty of the landscapes I explore.

And here’s where Reise Moto comes in. Their tagline – The Joy of Riding – speaks directly to what I’m trying to do with MSML. And Reise Moto understands this, and their commitment to enhancing riding experiences perfectly aligns with everything I’m doing with Motorcycles Saved My Life. That’s why they’re a part of the journey this season — their passion for riding mirrors mine, and together, we’re sharing that joy with everyone.

What makes this journey special is that it’s never just a shoot or a ride. It’s a real adventure, with real people, sharing real experiences. And with each episode, each ride and each moment on the road I feel like I’m building something bigger than just a show. I’m creating a movement — one that celebrates the joy of riding motorcycles, the connections I make and the life-changing experiences that come with it.

So, if there’s one thing, I hope you take away from this journey, it’s this: Life is a ride. It’s not about getting from point A to point B, it’s about embracing every moment in between. Whether I’m on a motorcycle or not it’s about finding the joy in the journey and sharing it with those around me. And that’s exactly what I’m trying to do with MSML — to share the joy of riding and the thrill of adventure with all of you. This journey is far from over. There’s much more to come, and the road ahead is full of surprises. Keep riding, keep smiling, and let’s continue this incredible adventure together!
