The MG Windsor emerged as the highest selling EV of 2025 in India, positioning JSW MG Motor as the second-best seller in the Indian EV market. With sales averaging over 4,000 a month, MG sold 46,735 units of the Windsor in CY2025. The Windsor recorded the highest monthly sales consistently throughout the year, with a 20 percent surge in Q4 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. MG closed 2025 with a 19 percent overall growth, paired with a 111 percent surge in EV sales year-on-year.

MG attributes these numbers to its cabin space, appealing looks, and a real-world range of over 350 km. For reference, the Mahindra XUV400 EV has a real-world range between 250 and 300 km. Buyers can choose between two battery packs for the Windsor: 38 kWh with 332 km range or a larger 52.9 kWh pack offering up to 449 km of range.
Although rivals like the Tata Nexon EV offer similar range and slightly higher power figures, the Windsor stands out thanks to its customer-friendly plans such as the Battery-as-a-Service model, starting at ₹9.99 lakh plus ₹3.9 per km. Realistically, this means that you can simply buy the car body at a lower upfront cost, and pay for your battery as per your usage.
Competitors to the Windsor EV include the Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV, Curvv EV, and the Mahindra XUV400 EV.
