Maruti Suzuki India has achieved a major milestone with over three crore vehicles sold in the country since it began its operations.The company said that it took 28 years and two months to sell its first one crore vehicles in India. The next one crore came in seven years and five months, while the third crore was achieved in just six years and four months, a sign of how quickly the Indian car market has expanded in recent years.
Leading the brigade is the Maruti Suzuki Alto, with more than 47 lakh units sold so far. The Wagon R and Swift follow with around 34 lakh and 32 lakh units respectively. Compact SUVs like the Brezza and the Fronx have also made their way into the top ten list of bestsellers.
