Did you know that quite a few GP riders use KYT helmets for racing? In fact this KYT NZ Race Espargaro helmet I am testing is a replica of the one worn by MotoGP racer Aleix Espargaro. I love the bright colours that helps the helmet stand out in a sea of monotone coloured helmets. The shape looks futuristic and is quite aerodynamic thanks to the helmet being wind tunnel tested for low resistance. It is light as well thanks to being made of a mix of Kevlar, carbon and fibre glass that helps keep weight low while offering better impact resistance as well. The helmet feels snug and the double D-ring retainer is the most secure way of ensuring the helmet doesn’t come off your noggin in the event of a crash. It’s quite ventilated as well, a boon while riding in unprecedented hot temperatures. Overall, its pricey but worth it.
