I have been driving the Kia Seltos for the past few months and continue to be amazed by its vast list of features, particularly considering its price point. I am quite impressed with its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in urban settings. The Kia Seltos boasts Level 2 ADAS with 17 functions, featuring radar units both at the front and rear, placing it on par with flagship models like the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai IONIQ 5.
Having experienced ADAS in luxury European cars, I find the Seltos to be better suited for Indian roads. Its system operates well, avoiding unnecessary interventions, even amidst the chaotic traffic scenarios on our roads. Beginning with forward collision warning and avoidance assist, the system activates only when imminent danger is detected, providing a stress free driving experience, particularly on long highway stretches. The smart cruise control, equipped with stop-and-go and leading vehicle departure alert functions works really well in city traffic. Notably, it alerts me when the car ahead moves at a traffic light, preventing impatient honks from fellow drivers. With the smart cruise control’s adaptive speed adjustments, the Seltos maintains safe distances from the traffic ahead.
Lane keep assist functions smoothly, adapting to varied road conditions. The Seltos impressively maintains its course even on lanes marked on just one side. While the safe exit warning feature is beneficial, I find it overly cautious for our local environment, prompting me to deactivate it. Notably, the Seltos intelligently retains the ADAS settings upon restarting unlike some European counterparts. Overall, the Kia Seltos’ ADAS functionalities enhance the driving experience, offering safety without being overly intrusive.
