Kawasaki has brought the Ninja ZX-6R to India at Rs 11.09 lakh ex-showroom, with deliveries starting from the end of January. The motorcycle was showcased at India Bike Week last month.

The new Ninja ZX-6R’s design is a departure from the previous model that was sold in India until the BS4 emission norms kicked in. It now has a closer resemblance to the Ninja ZX-10R. In the front, Kawasaki’s signature twin LED headlamps sit in the cowl with an air duct in the centre. Behind the cowl sits a 4.3-inch TFT colour display which has Bluetooth connectivity. Riders can use this to connect with Kawasaki’s Rideology application to get more information about the bike. The rear too has LED taillamps and turn indicators. The bike is available in two colours, Lime Green and Metallic Graphite Grey.

In terms of features, along with the TFT screen, the Ninja ZX-6R comes equipped with the following power modes- Sport, Road and Rain. The bike also gets three levels of traction control. There’s also a custom mode called the Rider, which allows the rider to set the power and traction mode according to their preference.

The Ninja ZX-6R is powered by a 636cc liquid-cooled inline-four cylinder engine which produces 129PS @ 13,000rpm with ram air intake (124PS standard) and 69Nm @ 11,000rpm. This power is sent to the wheels via a 6-speed transmission which is equipped with a quick shifter and assist and slipper clutch as well. The suspension duties are handled by Showa units front and rear with the ability to adjust preload, rebound damping and compression damping. The Ninja ZX-6R’s kerb weight is 198kg. Bringing the bike to a stop are 310mm dual disc brakes in the front and a single 220mm disc in the rear equipped with dual channel ABS.

The Ninja ZX-6R competes with the likes of the Honda CBR 650R in India.
