JSW MG Motor India Partners with Shell India

Shell EV Recharge locations will provide reliable, ultra-fast charging with a 98 percent to 99 percent uptime, along with convenient retail options such as fresh food and beverages

JSW MG Motor India has partnered with Shell India Markets Private Limited (SIMPL) to enhance EV charging infrastructure across India. This collaboration will allow JSW MG Motor India customers to use Shell’s extensive fuel station network for vehicle charging.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, Shell India will install CCS 50kW and 60kW DC fast chargers at various locations throughout India, strengthening the EV charging network and supporting long-distance travel. These chargers will be accessible via the MyMG App and Shell’s network discovery tool. Shell EV Recharge locations will provide reliable, ultra-fast charging with a 98 percent -99 percent uptime, along with convenient retail options such as fresh food and beverages.

JSW MG Motor India has been developing the EV ecosystem before the launch of the MG ZS EV. The company focuses on battery recycling, second-life management, and multi-step charging systems, including AC and DC fast chargers in residential areas and showrooms. They offer a six-way charging ecosystem, including free AC fast-chargers at home or office, an extended charging network, onboard plug-and-charge cables, roadside assistance, and community chargers. JSW MG Motor India has installed around 500 chargers in 500 days and has over 15,000 charging touchpoints nationwide.

Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer of JSW MG Motor India, emphasized that this partnership aims to enhance the EV ownership experience and accelerate EV adoption in India by making fast charging more convenient and accessible for long-distance journeys. Sanjay Varkey, Director of Shell India Markets Private Limited, highlighted Shell’s commitment to providing sustainable, hassle-free, and efficient charging experiences with 100% certified renewable power and ultra-fast chargers, promoting widespread EV adoption in India through digital integration and customer-centric initiatives.
