Infinix has launched the Note 50X 5G+ from ₹11,499. The Note 50X looks quite premium and its design sets it apart in the crowded budget smartphone segment. It comes in Sea Breeze Green, Enchanted Purple, and Titanium Grey colourways. The green variant sports a vegan leather back applique while the rest get a metallic finish. A highlight of this phone is that this is the first smartphone in the world to ship with the new 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate octa-core chip, plus apart from having an IP64 rating, it also conforms to MIL-STD-810H standard for durability.

The Note 50X ships with a USB Type-C charging cable, a 45W power brick, a SIM ejector tool, and a TPU protective case. The protective case comes colour-matched to the phone’s hue, has a leather-grain pattern on the back with Infinix branding and also features raised edges to protect this phone’s substantial camera bump.

The 50MP main camera sensor does a decent job of capturing clean and balanced photos in good lighting conditions. The colours also come through as reasonably accurate, perhaps better than what other similarly priced phones can manage. An ‘AI lens’ accompanies the main sensor and enables multiple AI-powered camera modes such as AI Cam, Slow Motion, Timelapse and AIGC Portrait, to name a few. A dual LED flash, an IR blaster and a notification LED have also been integrated into the camera bump itself.

Using the Note 50X as a daily driver, we really liked the backup provided by its large 5,500mAh battery. A full charge easily lasts well past a day with moderate usage. The 45W charging brick juices the phone up from 20 percent to full in a little over 40 minutes, ensuring minimal downtime if you do run out of charge. The Note 50x comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which is ergonomically placed, and works quickly as well as accurately. It has a 6.67″ HD+ IPS screen with a 720p resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and 672 nits of peak brightness. The display is a punch-hole unit and gets an 8MP front camera which produces decent selfies.

The Note 50X comes with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The hardware easily runs BGMI and CoD Mobile on medium settings without stutters, although the 720p resolution of the screen leaves room for improvement in the visuals department. The phone also manages heat well and remains comfortable to hold even during extended gaming sessions. The sound quality is good for media consumption as well as gaming and the Note 50X performs well while handling daily tasks. Call quality is nice and AI features such as circle to search, image cutouts and live call transcription work well.

The phone runs XOS 15, which is based on Android 15. Infinix’s UI has improved over the years and runs smoother now while also looking cleaner. Bloatware is still present but thankfully, most of it can be uninstalled to free up RAM and storage space. The company has claimed that this smartphone will get two major Android upgrades as well as security updates for three years, which is great news.

To conclude, the Note 50X 5G+ is a good-looking smartphone, packs in a lot of features at its price point and has a great VFM quotient. After putting it through its paces, we feel that its combination of good gaming performance, great battery life and well-designed body really make a strong case in its favour against similarly-priced competitors.
