IGNYTE, a premium helmet brand from the Indian manufacturer Steelbird, has launched the IGN-16 Kevlar-reinforced helmet in India, starting at ₹5,999. It is engineered with EPP technology and Kevlar material, which is found on bulletproof jackets and ballistic helmets. This protects the wearer from high-intensity impact and penetration of sharp objects upon impact.
The IGN-16 series features a PC-ABS blended outer shell, which is paired with an EPP liner, which the company claims absorbs impact and regains its original shape. The interior of the helmet is lined with antimicrobial, anti-allergenic, and breathable fabrics. The inner paddings are removable and washable, which should allow the user to help maintain long-term hygiene. The visor, made of polycarbonate, comes with an anti-scratch coating, UV protection, and a Pinlock 30 anti-fog insert, which should ensure clear visibility in most riding conditions.
The IGNYTE IGN-16 carries an aerodynamic profile and is designed with multiple vents for airflow and a rear spoiler, which should provide it with stability when riding at higher speeds. Buyers can opt for double D-ring or micrometric buckle closure systems, which the manufacturer has tested for reliability. The IGNYTE IGN-16 comes in five shell sizes and with multiple colours and graphics options. The range is further classified into Quantum, Steady, Monocolour sections with both matt and glossy finishes, and weighs around 1800grams. Each helmet comes with an additional smoke visor, balaclava, sports cheek pads, and extra padding.
