As a biker, you will often face a choice — the sea or the hills? It’s not that other locations can’t be fun, but motorcycling is intrinsically linked to these two types of terrain. Thus, when the Zilla Parishad Elections in Goa were rescheduled, and the dates collided with the annual celebration of biking culture in India, the India Bike Week (IBW as it’s famously known), the people behind one of the largest gatherings of motorcyclists in our nation found a detour. They swapped the beaches for some twisty tarmac nestled in the heart of the Western Ghats, at Panchgani, Maharashtra.
In its 12th year, the horde of bikers is to head to the misty hills of the Western Ghats, and this will be a new experience for all the veterans of IBW. There is the promise of new trails, cooler winds, bonfire nights, camping and after-parties (that last one seems not to change, and we are thankful for that!). Thanks to the new terrain, the 12th Edition of IBW will feature ride experiences not seen before, such as hill climbs and mud trails.
If you have been to a fair few iterations of IBW and felt you could skip this year, the fates have intervened and made it so that this will truly be one of the unskippable IBW events. We will see you there!
