Ever since it was first launched in 2015, the Hyundai Creta has been the undisputed leader (in terms of sales) in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. Come 2024, Hyundai has given a comprehensive mid-life refresh to the second-generation Creta.
The exterior design has undergone a major overhaul with the front end now featuring a resigned front and rear end. Inside, the interiors too have been heavily modified and now features a big glass slab that houses dual 10.25-inch screens for the driver and infotainment system. It continues to get a panoramic sunroof, front ventilated front seats and a Bose sound system. The rear seats now get a 2-step reclining function for added comfort. Safety features are spearheaded by Level – 2 ADAS along with six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes and Electronic Stability Control, which now come as standard.
The powertrain options include three engines – a 115PS 1.5-litre NA petrol, new 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 115PS 1.5-litre diesel engine and four transmission options – a 6-speed manual, IVT, 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed automatic. The SUV will be on offer in six variants and 7 mono-tone colour options along with a single dual-tone colour.
Unlike when it was first launched, the Hyundai Creta now faces strong competition from the likes of the Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and MG Astor. We have driven the Creta facelift and our first drive review of the SUV will go live on January 17,
