Honda SP160 launched at Rs 1.18 lakh

The new sporty 160cc commuter will be available in two variants

Honda has introduced another 160cc commuter in the form of the new SP160, priced at Rs 1.18 lakh, ex-showroom onwards. The motorcycle will be on offer in two variants and six colour options. It features sporty styling bits like an aggressive front bikini fairing and plastic extensions to the fuel tank. In terms of features, there is an LED headlamp and tail lamp, as well as an LCD instrument cluster on offer.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said, “Since its debut in 2015, brand SP has revolutionised the 125cc motorcycle segment, setting unprecedented standards in technology, style and performance. Now, as we confidently progress into the future, we are delighted to extend the legacy of brand SP a notch higher and introduce the all new SP160. This sporty motorcycle is a representation of cutting-edge engineering and advanced innovation that is sure to fulfill the customer expectations.”

The SP160 is powered by the same 162.71cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine as the Unicorn which is also available in the same state of tune at 13.5PS and 14.5Nm with a five-speed manual transmission. The suspension duties are handled by a telescopic suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear, with the option of dual disc brakes on offer in the top variant.

The Honda SP160 competes against the likes of the Yamaha FZ, Suzuki Gixxer 150, Bajaj Pulsar P150 and TVS Apache RTR 160 2V.
