Harley-Davidson grabbed eyeballs in early July with the launch of the X440, its first single-cylinder motorcycle after a long time, co-developed with Hero MotoCorp with impressive introductory prices starting at Rs 2.29 lakh, ex-showroom. Fast forward to August and the company has announced that the motorcycle’s introductory prices will only last till August 03, after which, prices will start at Rs 2,39,500, ex-showroom.
Looking at the revised starting price, the X440 has gotten dearer by Rs 10,500 and it’ll be applicable to all three variants- Denim, Vivid and S. While the mechanicals for these three variants remain the same, there are differences in the colours and equipment on offer which include diamond-cut alloy wheels, machined fins for the engine, a colour TFT console and connected tech, exclusive to the S variant.
A 440cc air and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine powers the X440, delivering 27.4PS and 38Nm. It is hung on a trellis frame, underpinned by 43mm USD forks and conventional twin-rear shocks. Braking duties are done by a large 320mm front disc coupled with dual-channel ABS.
Bookings for the Harley-Davidson are being accepted on the company website for a token amount of Rs 5,000. Production will commence in September with customer deliveries expected to begin by October 2023.
