The concept car debuts as the brand’s first extreme off-road vehicle, combining a powerful V8, off-road-focused engineering and luxury design

Genesis has unveiled the X Skorpio Concept, an extreme off-road concept vehicle, during a demonstration held in the Rub’ al Khali—Empty Quarter desert in the United Arab Emirates. This marks the brand’s first dedicated exploration of high-performance off-road vehicle design beyond its existing SUV portfolio.

The X Skorpio Concept adopts a short-wheelbase for agility and better maneuverability with a tubular frame and integrated roll cage, developed specifically for harsh terrains. Its exterior design draws inspiration from a black scorpion, with the two-line lighting signature, integrated into fully functional front and rear lamps. The segmented side panels allow quick and efficient repairs, while the roof also functions as an active air intake.

Under the hood, there sits a V8 engine, which puts out 1,115PS and 1,100Nm. The X Skorpio Concept rides on 18-inch beadlock wheels fitted with 40-inch off-road tyres and features competition-grade suspension, high approach and departure angles and a lot of  underbody protection. The braking system has been sourced from Brembo Motorsport.

The interior gets fixed seats with multi-point harnesses, grab handles and a configurable digital display system designed for both solo driving and co-driver navigation. Alongside the X Skorpio Concept, Genesis also showcased its off-road-oriented concept versions of the GV60, GV70 and GV80. While production plans have not been confirmed, the X Skorpio Concept provides insight on how the brand is evaluating off-road-focused platforms and lifestyle-led vehicles for future development.
