The venerable Pulsar 150 is not too far removed from the original that came out in 2001; now it has the latest technology in the form of an LED headlamp. For riders who want a motorcycle in the 150-160cc range, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 remains the most affordable choice, and it certainly has not lost any popularity. The updated model also gains new colour options and graphics.

A word about the colour options: as far as our memory serves, this is the first-ever Bajaj Pulsar that’s being offered in a shade of green, at least in India. In 2013, the Indonesian market gained a Kawasaki Green shade for the then-new NS 200, but no Pulsar before this came with green paint from the factory, at least on Indian soil.

As far as the mechanicals are concerned, it retains the double-cradle frame, in which nestles a 149.50cc air-cooled, two-valve, single-cylinder motor that still utilises the twin-spark tech for efficient combustion. This rev-happy motor produces 14PS at 8,500rpm and 13.4Nm at 6,500rpm.

The updated Bajaj Pulsar 150 needs to fend off stiff competition from rivals such as Yamaha FZ, Hero Xtreme 160R, Honda Unicorn, and its old nemesis, the TVS Apache RTR 160.
