This is the third special edition model launched from Audi for the festive season

Audi India has been on a roll of sorts when it comes to special edition models over the festive season. First was the Audi Q8 Limited Edition, followed by the Q5 Limited Edition. Now, the carmaker has launched the S5 Sportback Platinum Edition at Rs 81.57 lakh, ex-showroom. Like is the case with the other special edition models, it will be sold in limited numbers and the changes are largely cosmetic in nature.

What’s different in the S5 Sportback Platinum Edition starts outside. It is offered in the District Green and Mythos Black body shades, while the Black Styling Package Plus adds black accents to the front grille and window trim. Other changes include Matrix LED headlamps, and red brake calipers.

Inside, there’s Magma Red Nappa leather upholstery, carbon fibre inserts and sports seats with massage function. Aside from that, the key features remain as is which includes a

10.1-inch touchscreen with Audi’s MMI infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone auto climate control and a panoramic sunroof.

Mechanically, it remains unchanged, being powered by a 354PS 3.0-litre TFSI V6 petrol engine, paired to an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox as well as the quattro all-wheel drive system. Audi has also decided to give it a little more performance wizardry thanks to S Sports Suspension with damper control to help improve driving dynamics.

Currently, the Audi S5 Sportback only has the BMW M340i as its main rival in India. The addition of the Platinum Edition variant should give it a bit more ammo against the BMW M340i.
