Ather Energy has launched the 450 Apex at Rs 1.89 lakh ex-showroom. It has opened bookings for customers and will start deliveries in March 2024. The Bengaluru-based company has launched this scooter to commemorate its 10th anniversary.
The 450 Apex is based on the same platform as the 450X, but there are changes in terms of the colour scheme and UI on the 7-inch touchscreen. A highlight of the design is the introduction of transparent body panels. The scooter has a two-tone colour scheme of Indium Blue and Strak Orange, with the Orange peeking out behind the transparent panels.
The 450 Apex gets a PMSM, capable of 9.5PS of power and 210Nm of peak torque at the wheel. The scooter has a Warp+ riding mode, which lets it accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in 2.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 100kmph.
The 450 Apex also gets Magic Twist, a regenerative braking system which engages even when the battery is at 100 percent charge and has the ability to bring the scooter to a halt. The scooter has a quick throttle response at just 90ms. This allows the rider to use Magic Twist to ride the scooter without having to use the brake lever to slow down or stop. This has increased the range of the scooter to 157 km (IDC).
Customers of the 450 Apex will also get a Delight Kit, which has a handcrafted helmet with a matching paint scheme, an inbuilt TPMS, a neck gaiter, an iron-on garment patch and a keychain. The 450 Apex goes up against the likes of Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube, TVS X and Simple One.
