The Oberoi Concours d’Elegance, a prestigious event celebrating automotive heritage, is set to take place at The Oberoi Udaivilas, in Udaipur, from February 16 to 18, 2024. This event, coinciding with Oberoi Hotels & Resorts’ 90th anniversary, aims to showcase classic car and motorcycle collections from both India and abroad.
Organised by Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, the Concours d’Elegance will feature vintage vehicles owned by Indian royalty and private collectors. The event will take place against the backdrop of Lake Pichola, highlighting the design and craftsmanship of these iconic automobiles.
Curated by leading automotive historian, Mr. Manvendra Singh Barwani, the Concours will be judged by a panel of classic car experts, including Ms. Sandra Button, Chairperson of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and esteemed judges such as Giacomo Agostini who has amassed 122 Grand Prix wins and 15 World Championship titles and Jacky Ickx who won 24 Hours of Le Mans six times and achieved eight wins and 25 podium finishes in Formula One.
Various classes, including ‘Motoring for the Masses – India’ and ‘Cars of the Maharajas – Mysore,’ will tell unique stories of India’s motoring heritage. Notable entries include vehicles such as the 1925 Hispano Suiza H6B Transformable Limousine, 1930 Ford Model A Coupe, 1916 Emblem 680cc V Twin motorcycle and the 1939 Daimler 2 ½ litre ‘Dolphin’ Tourer. BMW will contribute to the event by showcasing the iconic BMW 328, its most successful sports car from the 1930s, symbolising the brand’s rich racing heritage. In addition to showcasing automotive history, the event will also feature an exclusive poster by renowned automobile artist Tim Layzell.
Moët Hennessy India and Stefano Ricci will add to the celebration as official partners.
