Hyundai India has opened bookings for the new Creta at Rs 25,000 ahead of its launch this month. Very few details have emerged about the car, but what is confirmed are the design cues, the colour options and powertrain options. More details further ahead.
The new Creta’s design is based on Hyundai’s Global Design Language of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’. From what can be seen in the images, the new Creta has a big grille like before but has more of a rectangular look than the previous model and does not have the chrome border around it. It has LED DRL light which spans the entire front end of the car above the grille. This design is mirrored on the rear end of the car as well.
Inside, the dashboard seems to have a giant glass panel behind which the instrument cluster and infotainment screen hide. The AC vents are now placed underneath the infotainment screen.
The car gets a total of seven colours, with Six mono-tone colours on offer, Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki, Abyss Black, Atlas White, and Titan Grey with the Robust Emerald Pearl being a new addition. The seventh colour is a dual-tone colour option is Atlas White with Black Roof.
Customers can choose between three powertrain options, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, a 1.5-litre NA petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel. They can also choose between four transmission options, a 6-speed manual, an IVT, a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The new Creta will go up against competitors such as the Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Volkswagen Taigun.
