The Hyundai Exter comes with a new fascia with new bumpers, front and rear, along with a new grille. On the side, it gets new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a new trim added to the C-pillar, along with additional cladding on the wheel arch. At the rear, it gets a new split spoiler, a new garnish on the tailgate, and an underbody spare wheel is now standard.

On the inside, it features a new dual-tone interior finished in Navy Blue and Grey, along with a 3-D carbon finish on the dash. It also gets a new D-cut steering wheel, metal pedals (first in segment), and a folding driver’s armrest. Hyundai has also added a new semi-fabric upholstery for the interior, along with driver’s seat height adjustment and rear headrest adjustment as standard. In terms of equipment, it gets a built-in dashcam (first in segment), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Type-C charging ports for the rear passengers, and connected car tech with Hyundai BlueLink.

Mechanically, it remains unchanged with a 1.2-litre NA Kappa petrol engine producing 83PS and 113Nm, mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT. A dual cylinder CNG kit option is also available, in which the car produces 69PS and 95Nm.

With a price tag of ₹5.80 lakh ex-showroom, the Hyundai Exter competes in the micro SUV segment with the likes of Tata Punch, Citroen C3, and Nissan Magnite.
