According to Euler, the Turbo EV 1000 is the world’s first eclectic one-tonne truck

Euler, the manufacturer of electric commercial vehicles specialised for intra-city and last-mile mobility, has unveiled its latest product, called the Euler Turbo EV 1000. The 1000 is significant in the name, as, according to the manufacturer, this is the world’s first all-electric one-tonne truck. The price starts from Rs 6.0 lakh ex-showroom, and goes to Rs 7.2 lakh ex-showroom for the variant equipped with fast charging, while the beefier Maxx variant retails for Rs 8.2 lakh ex-showroom.

Euler has used a ladder frame with rigid axles at both ends of the Euler Turbo EV 1000, coupled with parabolic leaf springs at the front and semi-elliptical leaf springs at the rear—a classic load-carrying setup. What’s interesting is the usage of two different thicknesses of metals in the chassis–the regular models come with 2mm thickness on the box section, while the Maxx variant gets 2.5mm thickness for its box sections. The Maxx variant also gets a longer frame and, consequently, a longer bed length. The standard model of the Turbo EV 1000 gets 12-inch wheels while the Maxx gets 13-inch ones, which also improve the ground clearance by some margin. The top models also come with electric power steering.

The batteries of the Turbo EV 1000 are where things get interesting. In order to keep costs low, no single model comes with all the bells and whistles. The standard model gets a 76.8V battery, whereas the Maxx model gets a 96V battery. However, as fast charging requires a high-voltage architecture, the fast-charge model gets a 320V battery (15.36, 19.2 and 16kWh, respectively). The claimed real-world ranges are 135, 180±10 and 140±10, respectively.

Based on the demands of the market, the Euler Turbo EV 1000 comes in various body styles, such as the evergreen pickup van, the delivery van, the high deck model, the tipper, and finally the flatbed, ready for any kind of specialised body to be fitted, as required by the application.

Overall, the Euler Turbo EV 1000 seems to offer performance that is on par with the customer expectations in this segment, with much lower projected running costs. As the company that introduced the first liquid-cooled battery for electric 3-wheelers and introduced AC and ADAS in the electric cargo 4-wheeler segment in India, we expect the Turbo EV 1000 to be another success story in the making.
