In line with the Hyundai Creta that received a mid-life facelift earlier this year, its three-row SUV sibling, the Alcazar has been updated as well. The SUV gets a new look besides a lot of comfort and tech features to make it a more premium offering. The Alcazar is available in six and seven-seater configurations and prices start at Rs 14.99 lakh onwards for the petrol variant and Rs 15.99 lakh onwards for the diesel (all prices ex-showroom).
Visually, while the new Alcazar looks similar to the new Creta, it gets enough enhancements to distinguish itself from the five-seater SUV. It gets new H-shaped LED DRLs, quad-beam LED headlamps, a new hood design, a new dark chrome grille and a rugged front bumper along with a new skid plate. On the side, it gets new and larger 18-inch machined-finish alloy wheels. These updates ensure the Alcazar looks distinctive and more premium.
Inside, the cabin is now finished in a dual-tone noble brown and haze navy colour trim. The 6-seater variant gets ventilated captain seats in the second row as well as folding armrests that allow for easy access to the third row. Premium bits include a one-of-a-kind thigh cushion extension, power walk-in device, wing-type headrest and an 8-way power driver & 8-way power passenger seat with a memory function for the driver seat.
Tech updates come in the form of the digital key with NFC, 270+ embedded VR commands with Hinglish and 135 Hindi voice commands. It also gets rain sensing wipers, Bose premium sound 8 speaker system, voice enabled panoramic Sunroof, wireless charger for first and second row, magnetic pad, a 10.25-inch HD infotainment system and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control with touch type AC control panel and ambient lighting.
The Alcazar comes packed with safety features. It gets Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS with 19 features like Smart Cruise Control, Surround View Monitor, Blind Spot View Monitor, Forward Collison Warning and Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning and more. The SUV also gets 40 safety features as standard. These include six airbags, Hill- Start Assist, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, all four disc brakes and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (Highline), Digital Key, Hill Descent Control, front parking sensors, Rain sensing wipers and more.
The Alcazar gets two powertrain options – A 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor delivering 160PS and 253Nm which can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT; and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 116PS and 250Nm with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter gearbox options.
