Kia has launched the all-new Seltos with prices starting at ₹10.99 lakh ex-showroom. The second generation of the midsize SUV gets a new design language and is based on the global K3 platform, also making its debut in India.
The new Seltos now measures 4,460mm in length and 1,830mm in width. The wheelbase is also longer, now measuring 2,690mm. The exterior gets a new bolder grill, pop-out door handles, LED projector headlamps, integrated rear spoiler with a hidden rear wiper and new 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The new Seltos will be available in 10 colours, including two new shades – Morning Haze and Magma Red.
On the inside, the Seltos now features a new cabin with dual-tone upholstery and new colour themes for the seats. The infotainment system has also received an update with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, physical buttons for selected controls, memory function for the driver’s seat and OVRMs. In addition, you also get 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless charging pad, multiple Type-C USB ports, a premium sound system from Bose, dual-panoramic sunroof, rear-window sunshade and 60:40 split rear seats. Kia is offering the new Seltos with Level 2+ ADAS, which includes 21 autonomous safety features, a 360-degree camera and a blind-spot monitor.
Under the hood, the new Seltos retains the same engine offerings like the previous generation, including the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produced 115PS and 144Nm, the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, which makes 160PS and 253Nm and the 1.5-litre CRDi, which puts out 115PS and 250Nm. Transmission options also remain the same with the 6-speed manual/iMT/automatic, IVT, and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. We have driven the new Seltos and here is what we have to say about it.
