Ducati has unveiled the 2025 Ducati Monster, which is the fifth generation of the naked sportbike, and it gets leaner with a complete visual refresh. Along with that, it uses the new 890cc V2 engine, which is the only Ducati V-twin on sale right now without a Desmo valvetrain. It can also be found in the Multistrada V2, Panigale V2, and the Streetfighter V2.

The Monster gets a new front with an LED headlamp and C-shaped LED DRLs. The tank has been redesigned, which gives it a slimmer profile while staying true to its original muscular styling. The side panels extend towards the short tail section, which completes the overall look.

The 890cc V-twin engine makes 111PS and 91.1Nm, and puts the power down with a six-speed transmission, and a bi-directional quickshifter. The variable valve system helps the engine deliver a wider torque spread throughout the rev range. The engine also provides a longer service interval of 45,000km, thanks to the use of spring-returned valves as opposed to Desmodromic valves. The V2 engine sits as a stressed member on a lightweight aluminium chassis and there’s a rear subframe made out of a technopolymer element. Due to this, the Monster has shed some weight, which now weighs just 175kg without fuel, 4kg lighter than the previous model.

A single-piece seat with a height of 815mm is 5mm lower than the previous iteration, while that too can be brought down even lower, thanks to the accessory lower seat and a lowering kit which brings down the height to 775mm. Suspension duties are performed by 43mm Showa USD forks and a rear shock with preload adjustability. Braking is carried out by twin Brembo M4.32 calipers with 320mm discs.

The Ducati Monster has also received a host of electronic rider aids – like traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control, cornering ABS and four ride modes, all of which can be accessed by using the joystick and the 5-inch TFT display, which offers Ducati Multimedia System and turn-by-turn navigation. Ducati will offer the Monster in two variants – Monster and Monster+, which will be available in two shades – Ducati Red and Iceberg White. Pricing of the new Ducati Monster has not been revealed yet, but expect it to be priced slightly higher than the outgoing model when it lands on the Indian shores.
