Both the heavily updated SUVs will go on sale on October 17

Mark your calendars as just mere days after unveiling the facelifted Harrier and Safari, the two SUVs will be launched on October 17. Both SUVs as part of the midlife refresh will receive extensive changes inside and out.

On the outside, while there wasn’t much to differentiate the Harrier and Safari aside from the third row for the latter, the facelift has given them their own distinct identities. What’s common however is the exterior changes make them look sportier than before while taking inspiration from the Curvv concept.

Head inside and the Harrier and Safari have received a similar overhaul with the main highlight being the new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment, 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, ambient lighting and a new steering wheel with the illuminated logo taking centre stage.

Powering both SUVs will be the same 170PS 2.0-litre diesel engine with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The automatic variants now get paddle shifters added to the mix.

With the plethora of updates on the 2023 Harrier and Safari, expect them to retail at a price premium over their outgoing versions that were priced from Rs 15.20 lakh and Rs 15.84 lakh ex-showroom onwards. The former has the likes of the MG Hector and the 5-seater variants of the Mahindra XUV700 for company, while the latter will take on the MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, and the Mahindra XUV700.
