Continuing the streak of launches ahead of the upcoming festive season, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has launched the updated Hornet 2.0 at Rs 1.39 lakh, ex-showroom. It gets minor cosmetic and mechanical updates over the model it replaces.
Starting with the design, the naked street fighter now gets new graphics on the muscular fuel tank. There is all-LED lighting on offer with a fully-digital console that gets five-levels of brightness adjustments. Other design highlights include split seats, alloy wheels and Golden USD forks, carried over from the last-gen model.
The 184.44cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine is now OBD2 compliant with outputs of 17.3PS and 15.9Nm. The five-speed gearbox is now enhanced with the addition of an assist and slipper clutch for easier and better shift quality. It gets petal disc brakes at the front and back with single-channel ABS. We feel Honda should have taken this opportunity to offer dual-channel ABS, at least as an option.
The 2023 Hornet 2.0 continues to compete against the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
